The weekend is approaching with some great happenings in Stephenville and the surrounding area. Make it a good one!
1. Master Composter training
Learn the biology of composting at a three-day Master Composter training course taking place from 6-9 p.m. Thursday and Friday, and 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday at Fossil Rim Wildlife Center in Glen Rose. The course is $35 per person or $55 for two and those who complete the three days will receive their State of Texas Alliance for Recycling (STAR) course certification. 2. Chicken House Flea Market
Looking for a bargain? Then head to the Chicken House Flea Market open from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at 8080 US Hwy. 377 South in Dublin. The flea market is open every second and fourth weekend of the month. For more information call 254-968-0888.
3. CTBRA at Lone Star Arena
Round up the family and head to Lone Star Arena for Central Texas Barrel Racing Association (CTBRA) events starting at 9 a.m. Saturday. Events will include slack barrels, Pee Wee class, slack poles, Barrels, pole class and on stake barrel. For more information call 254-965-7981.
4. Help Noah Kick Cancer fundraiser
Get those eyes checked and help raise funds for a great cause at the Help Noah Kick Cancer fundraiser taking place from 9 a.m.-noon Saturday at Moore Eye Center. All proceeds from annual eye exams will benefit Noah, who recently relapsed with Leukemia. There will also be raffle tickets sold for tattoo gift certificates, sunglasses, gift baskets and more. 5. Central Texas Wedding Expo
If you’re recently engaged and need some help kickstarting those wedding plans, then head to the Tarleton State University Barry B. Thompson Student Center ballrooms for the 8th annual Central Texas Wedding Expo on Sunday. The event is $5 per person, $3 for ages 12 and under, and will feature information on wedding and reception venues, suppliers, vendors and consultants.
