The Stephenville ISD will present details about the $6.81 million bond proposition during two public meetings — one at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 20, at Gilbert Intermediate and a second at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 3, at Stephenville High School.

At Monday’s SISD board of trustees meeting, Superintendent Matt Underwood said they will probably set a third.

“We’re going to do a third with the board and interested community members,” Underwood said. “We’re going to do a guided tour at Gilbert during the first meeting and a guided tour of the high school at the second. I will also go over the components of the bond prior to the tour and after I get through with the components I will take some questions.”

In January, the board approved an order to call a bond election for May 5 after $60,810,000 in district improvement projects was recommended by the Facility Planning Committee.

The improvements include safety and security, high school additions and renovations, extracurricular expansion, fine arts additions and renovations and career and technology improvements.

SISD has posted details on those projects on its website at

“I’m about to finalize my presentation and I will post that when it’s finished,” Underwood said. “That will include preliminary floor plans.”
