With just days left to file to run for Stephenville City Council in May, councilman Alan Nix, Place 6, finally made up his mind Wednesday on whether he would seek another term.

“I’ve decided to thrown my hat into the ring one more time,” he said.

Nix filed for a place on the ballot Wednesday; the last day to do so is Friday, Feb. 16.

Here’s a look at how the rest of the city council race is shaping up:

Mayor Kenny Weldon has decided not to seek another term and councilman Doug Svien is so far the only candidate to file for the position.

Carla Trussell, Place 2, has filed for a second term and will face a challenge from Moumin Quazi.

Brady Pendleton, Place 4, has not yet filed but said he plans to.

Councilman Jerry Warren, Place 8, has not responded to the E-T about his re-election effort, but Brandon Huckabee has filed to run for the spot.

Election Day is Saturday, May 5.
