Opal is a white two-year-old lab mix up for adoption at the Erath County Humane Society and this week’s featured pet.

“She was originally found wandering inside the Grove apartment complex, which is weird because it’s gated so I’m not sure if it was someone who lived there or what,” said ECHS Executive Director Diane McCoy. “She was never claimed and then was adopted by this girl who then got a job out of state, so she couldn’t keep her.”

Opal was well taken care of before she returned and has all her shots, is heart-worm negative and microchipped, but she isn’t spayed yet.

“She just came in (Monday) and the girl said she is house broken,” McCoy said. “She plays fetch and is really cute. I’m surprised someone didn’t want her. Maybe the third time will be the charm.”
