Stephenville Historical House Museum board members and volunteers are prepping a delicious meal for the fourth annual “Soup to Go” take-out supper from 4:30-6:30 p.m. Monday at the museum.

Proceeds benefit the Oxford House Preservation Project and the meal will consist of Oxford House potato soup, seasoned crackers, salad and brownies for a $10 donation per meal.

“The 2016 Soup-to-Go Supper earned over $5,000, which was used to complete the exterior repairs and painting of the Oxford House,” board secretary Dianne Wilson said. “Money raised at the 2017 supper will be applied to ‘Phase IV: Hardscape’ to include the parking area, sidewalks, curbing and guttering, planting beds and porch steps.”

There will be 500 tickets pre-sold between Jan. 2-Jan. 23 at the museum’s office, The Home Place at ACE, Stephenville Senior Citizens’ Center, city secretary Cindy Stafford and from any museum board member.

Those who purchase tickets will pick up their meal in a drive-thru setup at the Center Grove School on the museum grounds.

“Drivers will be met in front of the school by ticket takers who will deliver their meals to the vehicle, so that soup purchasers need not exit their vehicles,” Wilson wrote.
