Stingerette senior Macy Hall and freshmen Tyra Boudreaux, Andie Meraz and Carly Sanders are representing Stephenville High School in New York City this weekend after being selected for Danceline Production’s Elite Performing Group.

“These four Stings will be among 30 dancers from high schools around the state of Texas who have the privilege of joining the Danceline staff and take on NYC,” said Stingerettes Drill Team Director Kimberly Kelsey. “Highlights include master classes at the renowned Broadway Dance Center and Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, attending The School of Rock and The Lion King Broadway shows, and touring the Metropolitan Museum of Art.”

The girls were evaluated through a Danceline audition process on their dance technique, ability to learn and perform choreography and overall positive attitude. Those selected were able to choose between San Antonio, Orlando and/or New York City to travel to with their families.

“Expenses are the dancer’s responsibility and unfortunately many are simply unable to participate in the Elite program,” Kelsey said. “They will return with valuable information to share with the team from the biggest dance scene in the country as well as priceless memories of the Big Apple.”

Stingerette junior Blake Been will travel to Orlando to perform with other Danceline Elite dancers at Disney.

“They join the ranks of many other Stingerettes who have participated in these Elite trips in years past,” Kelsey said. “The Stingerettes are proud of these girls for their talent and dedication, and know they will represent SHS with pride.”
