An 83-year-old Dublin died Monday afternoon in what authorities are calling a possible medical incident.

According to a report issued by the Texas Department of Public Safety, John Brandon was traveling west on Hwy. 8 in Erath County in a 2006 Chevrolet pickup when, for an unknown reason, drove straight across the east bound lane, off the roadway and into a creek.

Brandon was pronounced dead at the scene by Justice of the Peace Shawnee Bass.

The Texas Highway Patrol is investigating the nature of the crash, but say medical conditions may have been a factor.

Brandon was taken to the Tarrant County Medical Examiners Office for exact cause of death.
