The Show - the Cowboy Capital of the World PRCA Rodeo’s official fashion show - is expected to be another sold-out event.
Now in its fourth year, The Show features local women modeling the latest fashions from area boutiques.
Kim Andrae, one of the event organizers, said this year’s event will be bigger and better than ever.
“We have moved the event outdoors - underneath the stars - to give people a little more room,” Andrae said.
The Show will take place on Tuesday, Sept. 19, at The N at Hardway Ranch and will feature clothing from 12 area boutiques: Silver Wings, Blue Flamingo, Punchy’s, Velvet Twelve, Back at the Ranch, Twisted J, Southern Honey, Chick Elms Grand Entry, Saddlebags, The Lace Cactus, Branded Pearl and Code Western LLC.
Last year’s event raised more than $40,000 for local charities.
“This year the committee voted the Child Welfare Board as our main charity,” Andrae said. “We also have three Tarleton $2,500 rodeo scholarships and we set money aside for other things like the angel trees, Cross Timbers Family Services and the mobile soup kitchen.”
Committee members include Andrae, Carie Decker, Jodi Clements, Jodee Lucero, Carly Alford, Chandra Andrew, Jody Volf, Lynssi Pollock and Brooke Brooks.
Individual tickets can be purchased for $60 at Capital Hatters beginning Friday.
Ticket prices include a sirloin dinner catered by Hard 8 BBQ, cocktails and an after party - another new addition to this year’s event - that will include music and dancing on the patio.
Only 300 additional tickets will be sold beginning Friday.
A social begins at 6 p.m. with dinner at 7. The fashion show will begin shortly before 8 p.m.
