In observance of Labor Day, Tarleton State University will be closed on Monday, Sept. 4, including the offices of all non-essential services on the main campus in Stephenville.

Several campus departments and facilities, however, will remain operational with minimal staffing and modified hours over the Labor Day weekend.

Tarleton’s Recreational Sports Center will operate from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 2; 1 to 6 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 3; and from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Labor Day. The center resumes normal operating hours Tuesday, Sept. 5, from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m.

The Dick Smith Library on the Stephenville campus will be closed on Labor Day, but will be open on Friday, Sept. 1, from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.; 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Saturday; and from noon to 2 a.m. on Sunday. The library resumes its regular hours at 7 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 5.

Tarleton Dining Services, including the Barry B. Thompson Student Center’s Texan Star Food Court, Study Grounds Café in the library, and the C-Store in the dining hall will be closed Saturday, Sunday and Monday. The dining hall, however, remains open during normal hours throughout the holiday weekend.

The Barry B. Thompson Student Center will be open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Saturday, 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Sunday, and from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Labor Day.

In addition to the Thompson Student Center’s modified hours, the Tarleton Campus Bookstore also will be closed Saturday through Monday, and the Tarleton Station Post Office will be closed all day Monday.
