The Stephenville Police Department is investigating a series of burglaries that has resulted in two suspects being arrested.
Michel Damion Sanders, 17, was arrested for possession of a controlled substance and burglary of a habitation.
Dallas Russell Johnson, 19, was arrested for burglary of a vehicle and burglary of a habitation.
At approximately 5:30 a.m. Friday the Stephenville Police Department received a call of people walking in yards in the 500 block of North Race Street.
Stephenville police arrived in the area and caught a person that had just broken into a vehicle. While officers were investigating this burglary they were made aware of other vehicle burglaries and one residential burglary in the area.
Detectives, crime scene unit and K-9 unit were called to assist in the investigation. Through the combined efforts of the Stephenville Police Department, two arrests were made for burglary, recovered multiple stolen items and solved 16 burglary cases.
The list of recovered stolen property from last night’s burglaries include guns, laptop computers, electronics, backpacks, a speaker box and other miscellaneous items.
The Stephenville Police Department encourages citizens whose vehicles were broken into last night to make a report. These burglaries are still under investigation and the Stephenville Police Department requests that anyone with any information in these burglaries to contact us.
