The push to revitalize Stephenville’s downtown continues with a big night planned on the square and plaza Thursday.
Ashleigh Feuerbacher, a member of the Downtown Merchants Association who is helping with the event, said the evening will begin at 4 p.m. with a dedication ceremony recognizing the old First National Bank building’s induction into the National Registry of Historic Places and the former Dawson Saloon - now Greer’s Ranch Cafe - officially becoming a Texas historical landmark.
The ceremony and reception will take place from 4-5 p.m. at Greer’s.
The fun will continue with Playin’ on the Plaza from 6-9 p.m.
Kaylee Pemberton, president of the Downtown Merchants Association, said the Stephenville High School choir will kick off the event followed with performances by Mike Graham and Cody Gill.
“There is going to be all kinds of fun things happening downtown on Thursday night,” Pemberton said. “The merchants will stay open late and Silver Wings will offer margaritas as part of its ‘sip and shop’ experience and Greer’s will offer a two for one dinner entree (dine in only).”
Ruby’s, Soup & More and a food truck will sell food at the plaza and residents are invited to bring chairs and a cooler of their own while they listen to music.
“It’s going to be a great night,” Pemberton said.
