Members of the Bosque River Chapter of Children of the Republic of Texas attended the annual CRT convention in Kerrville July 24-25. 

The chapter won the highest honor, 4 Star Award, for such things as having at least 4 meetings during the year, marking the grave of an ancestor with a “Citizen of the Republic of Texas” medallion, adding new members, completing many projects, encouraging the display of the Texas flag, and celebrating Texas Honor Days.  Thirty individual projects were completed that involved recruiting new members, writing about an ancestor, researching the history of a church and many other efforts.

Attending the convention were Bosque River Chapter President, Keith Lincoln of Dallas, incoming CRT Chapter President Kaylee Flanary of Glen Rose, incoming CRT Chapter Parliamentarian Tannon Judkins of Rainbow, Chapter Sponsor Dr. Joy Duncan of Dallas, Patti Flanary of Glen Rose and Bosque River DRT Chapter President Melinda Swink of Rainbow.

To be a member of the Children of the Republic of Texas a child age birth to 21 must be a direct descendant of a man or woman who honorably served the Republic of Texas.
