The Health Fair Planning Committee at Stephenville Medical & Surgical Clinic has begun making plans for this year’s free health fair.
It is scheduled for Saturday, Aug. 5, from 9 a.m. – noon at Henderson Junior High.
“We are excited again this year to have the Stephenville School Supply Organization as a vendor,” said Health Fair Coordinator, Jo Ann Shipman. “I was contacted a few months ago and asked if their organization could hand out the free school supplies at our health fair again. Of course we said, ‘Yes!’ because this brings in more families to our health fair, and they will benefit from the free health screenings and other activities of the fair.”
There are approximately 1,700 youth expected to pick up school supplies that day.
Letters and registration forms have already been mailed to last years’ vendors who have first choice at registration. New vendors requesting registration are placed on a waiting list and notified if space becomes available.
“We have heard back from several of our regular vendors, but many have not returned their registration form,” Shipman said.
This is an excellent opportunity for businesses, organizations and community resource entities to reach a large number of people and tell them about the services and products they provide. There are always door prizes and giveaways.
This year, Allery Services of America is offering a Samsung Galaxy Tab A - 10.1" 16 GB (Wi-Fi) tablet as the “grand” door prize.
Carter Blood Services will be set up as well to take blood donations.
