Sherman Police


POSSESSION — Officers conducted a traffic stop on June 5 in the area of U.S. Highway 75 and Loy Lake Road. A driver stated she had several items of contraband in her possession. A search of the vehicle revealed methadone pills and methamphetamine, and the driver was arrested for possession.


CRIMINAL MISCHIEF — An officer responded on June 5 to a business in the 1500 block of West Houston Street in reference to several broken windows. A report for criminal mischief was completed.


THEFT — An officer responded on June 5 to a residence in the 2200 block of South Crockett Street in reference to a stolen vehicle. The reporting party had borrowed a vehicle from a friend and then left the key in the ignition. Sometime during the night, the vehicle disappeared. A report for theft of property from $2,500-30,000 was filed.


CRIMINAL MISCHIEF — An officer made telephone contact on June 5 with a man residing in the 2600 block of West Center Street. He reported that sometime during the night of June 3 a suspect used a sharp object to scratch the paint on his vehicle while it was parked in the driveway of his residence. A report for criminal mischief was filed.


BURGLARY — An officer made contact on June 5 with two women in reference to the burglary of a vehicle. They stated that a suspect had gained entry into their vehicle on June 4 while it was locked and parked in the 1100 block of West Taylor Street. A purse and its contents were removed from the vehicle. A report for burglary of a vehicle was filed.


GRAFFITI — An officer made contact on June 5 with a woman in reference to criminal mischief. She stated that sometime from June 3-7, a suspect used black spray paint to damage the passenger’s side of her vehicle. At the time of the incident, the vehicle had been parked in the 1200 block of West Taylor Street. A report for criminal mischief was filed.


FOUND PROPERTY — A man turned in a mastercard credit card on June 2 which had been found in the 1400 block of West Taylor Street on May 31. A report for found property was filed.


BURGLARY — An officer responded on June 5 to a woman in the 1300 block of North Cleveland Street. She stated that earlier that day a suspect had gained entry into her vehicle while it was parked, unlocked, in the driveway of her residence. Nothing appeared to have been taken from the vehicle, and a report for burglary of a vehicle was filed.


FOUND PROPERTY — A man turned in a social security card on June 2 which he had found earlier that day in the 1900 block of Texoma Parkway. A report for found property was generated.


THEFT — Dispatch received a call on June 5 from a man to report a stolen vehicle. He stated that his vehicle had been parked, unlocked with the key inside, in his driveway in the 1400 block of North Cleveland Street.


BURGLARY — Officers were dispatched on June 5 to the 1000 block of North Brents Avenue in reference to the burglary of a vehicle. They collected evidence at the scene and filed a report for burglary of a vehicle and theft of a firearm.
