Stephenville city council members will take the oath of office Tuesday at City Hall.
Mark McClinton, Doug Svien, Rhett Harrison and Sherry Zachery won their bids for re-election on May 6 and will officially begin their new terms.
Following the swearing in there will be two public hearings for rezoning requests.
The council will also appoint a mayor pro-tem, then go into executive session where they will discuss filling the upcoming vacancy of the city secretary position.
Longtime city secretary Cindy Stafford is set to retire on July 14.
City Administrator Allen Barnes said the council can hire three city positions - city administrator, city attorney and city secretary.
Barnes said he does not know if the council will look to hire from within or if they plan to appoint an interim.
“It is strictly up to the council and I do not know what their thoughts are,” Barnes said Monday.
Tuesday’s meeting will begin at 5:30 p.m. at City Hall.
