A road trip to Godley didn’t go as planned for the Yellow Jackets Tuesday as they fell to the Wildcats 5-1.
Following a scoreless first inning, Godley did most their damage in the second frame posting three runs in the inning.
Stephenville didn’t get on the scoreboard until the top of the fourth where their lone run.
Godley added another two insurance runs in the bottom of the fifth inning sealing Stephenville’s fifth district loss on the year.
As a team, Stephenville only accumulated five hits in the game, three of which came from first three bats in the lineup. No Yellow Jacket player had more than one hit.
The only run batted in was done so by starting pitcher Luke Bullard, whom lasted four and a third in the game striking out three and giving up five hits and one earned run.
Stephenville is now 5-5 on the year in district play and 16-7-2 overall. They will be back in action Friday when they travel to play Waxahachie Life.
