Stephenville’s 10-game district win streak came to a end Tuesday as they dropped a road match up to Godley, 2-1.
The Honeybees, who had cruised through district 8-4A play until Tuesday, were held to only one hit in the game against the Lady Kats and lone run which was scored by Jessica Howell.
Godley took the lead in the game in the bottom of the third inning, which Stephenville later answered in the fourth. However, the Lady Kats added one more run in the bottom of the fifth inning which saw them through for the win.
While Howell drove in the only Stephenville run, Nadine Arredondo drew three walks in the game.
Stephenville pitcher Julia Flores pitched a complete game and struck out four hitters.
The Honeybees are now 22-4 on the season overall and 10-1 in district play. Godley moves to within one game of tying Stephenville for first place in the district with one game remaining.
The district finale is set for Friday at home against Alvarado at 7 p.m.
