The Stephenville ISD board of trustees will meet at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 18, to discuss the Stephenville High School iPad devices, recognize students and other agenda items.

The board will consider approval of the Stephenville High School iPad devices.

According to the agenda the district is looking at purchasing iPad devices with 128GB of storage and Wi-Fi capability.

At last month’s meeting the board decided to hold off as there were rumors that Apple was releasing a new product in April, but it seems that it has now been narrowed down from three options.

SISD’s goal is to distribute the new devices to high school students in August and to teachers

The recognitions will include Hook Elementary’s Destination Imagination, SHS powerlifting, SHS band solo and ensemble members, SHS Honeybee basketball, SHS Winterguard, Henderson Junior High student selected for the Duke University Talent Identification Program, and Brianna Hodges for her display of the district’s Core Value excellence.

Other agenda items include:

Consider approval of Education Service Center Region 11 benefits cooperative interlocal agreement resolution and agreement 2017-18. Consider approval of instructional materials allotment and TEKS certification 2017-18. Review of the monthly financial statements by Debbie Hummel. Superintendent Matt Underwood’s report: TCG investment advisors, T-Mobile grant, A Night at the Races, LMS Process, SISD comprehensive needs assessment survey, TASB/CTSDC Spring workshop and the May calendar.
