A teacher at Stephenville High School has resigned following allegations of an inappropriate relationship with a student.

Stephenville Police Chief Jason King said his department conducted a brief investigation after they were contacted by school officials.

“Right now there are no criminal charges and I don’t expect any to be filed,” King said.

King went on to say there are no allegations that a sexual relationship between the teacher and student occurred.

SISD Superintendent Matt Underwood said the situation was brought to his attention by a parent after text messages between the student and teacher and photos of the two were discovered.

The photos were not sexual in nature, King said.
