Stephenville City Park will be filled with 50,000 Easter eggs for Timber Ridge Church’s 6th annual free mEGGa Hunt taking place from 10 a.m.-12 p.m. Saturday.
“My wife and I started (Timber Ridge) church in 2011 and we wanted to do something at Easter for the community,” said Pastor Nic Burleson. “We wanted to do something fun for the whole family and just give back as a church to the community, so that was the motivation behind it.”
Thousands of people have attended the event over the years, which will not only feature the Easter egg hunt but pictures with the Easter bunny, Jumping Jackets’ bounce houses, temporary face tattoos, prizes and more.
“We’ve added more games this year; carnival-type games,” Burleson said. “So we have a strength tower and a baseball toss and some other of those type of games.”
There will be four different age divisions for the egg hunt and registration can be done at the event or before by visiting themeggahunt.com.
“We will have 50,000 eggs, which is the most we’ve ever had because of how many people we had come out last year,” Burleson said. “Our church members donate all the eggs and candy. It’s just so generous. We typically set a goal and try to reach it and our people met that goal.”

“I love that this event brings the community together and I think anything that’s good for families is good for the city of Stephenville,” Burleson said.
