The accolades for the Stephenville Honeybee basketball team continue to roll in as the Texas Girl's Coaches Association released it's All-State team Tuesday.
Stephenville sophomore Jayci Morton was the team's representative on the All-State mentions as she was included in the 40-player list.
Morton was one of only two sophomores to be mentioned in all of the 4A ranks, the other being Makayla Escue of Levelland.
"It's a huge honor to make that team," said Honeybee head coach Alan Thorpe. "I think she’s very deserving of it. Jayci had a great year and did some great stuff for us all season long. I’m very proud of her."
Morton adds the All-State mention to her District 8-4A Defensive Player of the Year award for 2016-17.
Also being recognized by the TGCA were Morton's teammates, Liz Pack and Katie Roberson.
Both seniors were acknowledged as Academic All-State recipients.
"Katie (Roberson) and Liz (Pack) are two extremely hard working student-athletes who took care of business in the classroom and on the basketball court," said Thorpe. "They’re very deserving of that honor."
The Honeybees recently wrapped up yet another solid season on the court finishing as district 8-4A runners-up with a 27-8 record overall. The team finished the season as regional semi-finalists.
