This week’s Pet of the Week is Jack — a beautiful blue-eyed, grey male domestic shorthaired cat who’s about one to two years old, super playful and sweet.

Erath County Humane Society Executive Director Diane McCoy says, “He came to us in November and was adopted, so he’s neutered and has current vaccinations. But then his owners moved and couldn’t keep him, so he came back in February.”

She continued, “Jack’s pretty frisky so I wouldn’t think he’d work well with very young kids. He’s good with other cats and people, though, and I think he’d be a good mouser and a great inside-outside cat.’’

She added with a grin, “I can tell you, he’s 99 percent play and doesn’t spend a lot of time sleeping like some cats. He’ll need an owner who’s willing to play with him — a lot.”

And as McCoy pointed out last week, “We’re still full population-wise, so we really need some adoptions — we’re wall-to-wall and then some.”

To meet Jack — or any of the other dogs or cats, puppies or kittens currently living at the ECHS — they’re located at 891 East Road or you can call 254-965-3247 for more information.
