The weekend slate for Stephenville didn't start off great, but the Yellow Jackets closed strong as they won two and tied another game out of their four contests.
Play began on Thursday with a 3-0 loss to Iowa Park, but the Yellow Jackets quickly rebounded with two straight wins over Burkburnett and Nocona on Friday.
Stephenville defeated the Bulldogs 3-2 behind a stellar pitching performance from Kade Averhoff.
The Yellow Jackets posted two runs in the second inning to take an early lead before Burkburnett leveled things with two runs of their own in the fifth inning. Stephenville managed to walk it off in the seventh inning for their ninth win of the season.
Matt Perez led the team in the game with two hits while Trevor Easter and Chase Carrilo each finished with a run batted in.
Caleb Smith was the winning pitcher, while Averhoff pitched six innings and struck out four.
The Nocona match-up was a completely different game as Stephenville annihilated the Indians 13-0.
Nolan Carroll led Stephenville with three hits, including an RBI, while Easton Jones and Mason Castleberry each drove in a team high two runs.
Luke Bullard received the win pitching a strong four innings and striking out seven Nocona hitters.
The weekend finale against Graham ended in a 1-1 tie due to drop dead rules in tournament play.
Caleb Gibbons pitched six innings for Stephenville and struck out nine while allowing no earned runs.
Stephenville is now 10-2-2 on the year.
The Yellow Jackets will be back in action on Tuesday when they travel to take on Graham.
