As part of their educational goals, Bosque River Chapter of Daughters of the Republic of Texas presented  “Lawrence Battle Moore and Orlena Springer Moore:  Their Ancestors and Descendents” to the Comanche Public Library on Feb. 15.

The book was put together by chapter member and Moore descendant, Judith Moore D’Amico.  It includes birth, death, marriage, census records, land grants and pictures dating back to early 1700s but focusing on the settlement of Texas.  Almost all branches of the family reached Texas just before or during the period of the Republic of Texas (1836-1846) and eventually settled in Comanche County.  Stephen, Moore, Baccus, Springer, Johnson, and McGee are some of the family names.

Additional copies of the book are available from D’Amico for $50 by calling 254-898-0535.
