THE GAMES
For the fifth consecutive season, the purple and white of Tarleton will take the field at Minute Maid Park, the home of the Houston Astros. The Texans will play three games against some of the nation's top competitors in the Winter Invitational, beginning Friday at 10 a.m. against St. Mary's. Tarleton will also face off with the No. 2 team in the nation Saturday afternoon with a 2 p.m. showdown with Central Missouri before wrapping up with a 2 p.m. game on Sunday against Arkansas-Fort Smith.
 
ABOUT THE TEXANS
The Texans are coming off a road series victory against St. Mary's in San Antonio after sweeping a doubleheader last Saturday afternoon. Blake Adams continues to lead the way at the dish with a .550 hitting clip while Austin Call (.429), Francisco Rodriguez (.333), and Dylan Lemons (.316) are hitting above .300 with at least 14 at bats this year. As a team, the Texans are hitting .289 with eight home runs and 44 RBI while the Tarleton pitching staff is allowing teams to hit only .224 while boasting 51 strikeouts in six games.

INSIDE THE SERIES: ST. MARY'S
This is the 60th all-time meeting between St. Mary's and Tarleton after last weekend's three-game series in San Antonio. The Texans won their 20th game of the series last weekend to bring the all-time record to 39-20 for the Rattlers. The Texans are 1-0 all-time against St. Mary's on neutral sites after Tarleton defeated St. Mary's 8-4 at Minute Maid Park on February 6, 2015.
 
INSIDE THE SERIES: CENTRAL MISSOURI
Tarleton and Central Missouri have met only one other time in Tarleton's modern era and the Texans fell in San Antonio in a 2-3 pitcher's duel in the opening game of the 2011 regional tournament.
 
INSIDE THE SERIES: ARKANSAS-FORT SMITH
This will be the first meeting between Tarleton and Arkansas-Fort Smith.
 
UP NEXT FOR TARLETON
Tarleton will continue action against Arkansas-Fort Smith as the Lions make another trip to Texas when they visit the Cecil Ballow Baseball Complex for a three-game series on Friday and Saturday. The series was originally scheduled to be played in Fort Smith, Arkansas, but a schedule change forced the move to Stephenville.
