Erath County Master Gardeners will be hosting a program on “The Basics of Growing Tomatoes Successfully.”

The program will be Saturday, April 7, 1–4 p.m. at the Texas A&M AgriLife Research Center 1229 N US Hwy. 281.

There will be a $25 registration fee and participants will receive four tomato plants, handouts and an opportunity to ask questions.

Speakers will include Joe Masabni, Extension Small-Acreage Vegetable Specialist, Bob Whitney, Gardener &Retired County Extension Agent; Erath County Master Gardeners.

Spring DOPA Program

Spring Dairy DOPA Program will be held April 10.

The DOPA program is hosted by Erath, Comanche and Hamilton Texas AgriLife Extension Service.  Registration will begin at 9:30. The Program will be from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. 

The morning program will begin at the Texas AgriLife Extension Research Center. Topics will include: Weed Control, Herbicide & Potential Herbicide Residuals in Manure by James Jackson, Texas AgriLife Extension Range Specialist; Liability Issues from Herbicide Residuals; Working with Neighbors by James D. Bradberry, PLLC, Legal Counsel for TAD. After Lunch will be Trucking Laws & Regulations Associated with Manure Hauling by Trooper Kenneth Bratton, Texas Department of Transportation; Air Emissions & Potential Reporting Rules & Requirements by Ken Casey, Associate, Texas A&M AgriLife Research; Lagoon Treatment & Management Technology by Dr. Zong Liu, Assistant Professor & Extension Biological & Agriculture Engineering.

 5 DOPA credits will be offered. Two DOPA Credits for the morning session and three DOPA Credits for the afternoon session. Lunch will be provided at no cost by our sponsors. Please RSVP by April 9 at 254-965-1460 or send an email to erath-tx@tamu.edu.
