Stephenville resident Maxine Reynolds celebrated her 90th birthday with four generations of friends and family. Hosted by Oakwood Retirement Home, her party was held Saturday, March 8, 2008, at 3 p.m. Children Linda Schellenberg and Greg Thompson arranged the details.

“We didn’t think that my mother would live to be 50. At age 40 she had a brain tumor that impaired her sight and hearing. For her to outlive her school mates and be the eldest relative is amazing,” Schellenberg said.

Family came from across Texas to celebrate. Grandchildren Cindy Seaton and John Schellenberg came from Bryan and San Antonio. Laura Beth Thompson and fiance Mike Compton, from Keller, attended as well. Reynolds’ great-grandchildren Avery and Arwen Seaton, ages 4 and 3, also drove from Bryan to celebrate.

“She is a great example to me,” Seaton said. “Her positive outlook and gracious demeanor have always covered any circumstance that she’s in.”
