One of the largest bowling events of the year is just around the corner. Big Brothers Big Sisters will host Bowl for Kids Sake on Saturday, May 7.
Bowl for Kids Sake is a fun - but competitive - bowling tournament that BBBS agencies host each year, according to board president Treva Wygle.
Businesses are encouraged to gather 5-6 of their best bowlers and form a team to compete against others across the community. Individuals can also participate.
The mentoring organization raised $17,000 last year to support the daily operations. Entry fees are $100 per person.
"Proceeds are all for the kids and how we can encourage and mentor them," Wygle said.
First Financial Bank, Texas Health Harris Methodist Stephenville, Evening Lions Club and Town and Country Bank are already polishing their bowling balls for the event.
