Officer Kristie Bint with the Tarleton Police Department recently taught 16 women how to protect themselves in the event of an attack. R.A.D. (rape, aggression, defense) classes are taught every year during the fall and spring semesters.

"The whole idea is to teach women how to protect themselves and get away in case they are attacked," Bint said.

The 12-hour course includes lecture, discussions and self-defense lessons suitable for women of all ages and abilities. Another series will be offered in the fall.
