Special to the E-T

The First Baptist Church of Stephenville will present the sixth annual Stephenville Christmas Festival Sunday, Dec. 5, at 10:30 a.m. and 7 p.m. The musical production will take place in the FBC Worship Center, as a gift to the community.

This year’s concert will feature the First Baptist Sanctuary Choir and Orchestra, along with special guests, The Granbury Live Band and Vocalists.

The FBC Sanctuary Choir has been a part of many special events and projects in recent years. In 2006, they recorded their first CD entitled “House of Praise” with the CCA Recording Label from Nashville, Tennessee. In 2007, the choir was invited to participate in the American Gospel Festival in Dallas. This concert featured several world-renowned Christian artists including Babbie Mason, the Florida Boys, the Talley Trio and Steve Amerson.  2008 was another big year for the choir as they recorded their second CD with the CCA Recording Label entitled “Joy in the House,” and in November were invited to participate in another American Gospel Music Festival presentation, this time at Carnegie Hall in New York City.

Each year, the Stephenville Christmas Festival brings in a special guest artist. Granbury Live is a theater located on the downtown square in Granbury. This group of Christian entertainers performs shows every weekend, 50 weeks a year.  Since opening in 1999, the GBL cast has performed well over 1,000 concerts.
