Special to the E-T

The Tarleton State University Livestock Judging Team and Spring ANSC 490 Livestock Shows and Contests class will host the fifth annual Pre-Houston Intercollegiate Livestock Judging Workout in the Equine Center at the TSU Agriculture Center. Judging teams from across the United States, from junior colleges to land grant institutions, will participate.

Approximately 300 students and faculty are expected to attend the event, which will be held from 1-5 p.m. Saturday. This workout is a preparation event of 12 classes of Tarleton livestock for teams competing in the International Intercollegiate Livestock Judging Contest, which will be held in Houston next week.

Jared Jackson, instructor and livestock judging coach with the department of animal science and wildlife management, said, “This is our fifth year to host the event, and it brings national entrants from across the country. We hope to see you there.”
