Shayla D Fine of Dublin and Neil Warren Dempsey of Fort Worth were united in marriage on Feb. 23, 2013, at Christ Chapel Bible Church of Fort Worth. Officiating at the ceremony was Minister Jeff Walchshauser.
The bride is the daughter of Ricky and Chris Fine of Dublin. Her grandparents are Merrill Striegler and the late Allan Striegler of Stephenville, the late Clay Salyer of Dublin and Sid Fine and the late Joy Fine of Dublin.
The groom is the son of Gary and Debbie Dempsey of Godley. His grandparents are Marguerite Dempsey and the late George Dempsey of Glen Rose, George Sanctuary of Austin and Toni Shackelford of Granbury.
The bride wore a 3rd generation wedding gown that had belonged to her grandmother, Merrill Striegler, which was also worn by the bride’s mother, Chris Fine. The gown is ivory with a sweetheart neck line and lace bodice with satin covered buttons on the back and a chapel train. The bride wore her mother’s wedding veil and a pearl necklace belonging to Toni Shackelford, the groom’s maternal grandmother. The garter was made by her grandmother Merrill Striegler which consisted of a crystal heart pendant of the bride’s maternal great-grandmother. The bouquet was made of ivory roses, calla lilies and baby’s breath. Altar arrangements were made of ivory roses with baby’s breath.
The groom wore a black tuxedo and a boutonniere made of an ivory rose, baby’s breath and a sprig of wheat. The groomsmen wore black tuxedos accented with chocolate vests. The bridesmaids wore chocolate satin full length gowns with sweetheart necklines and carried bouquets of ivory roses and baby’s breath. Bride and groom shared vows and took communion during the candlelit ceremony.
A reception was held at Stockman’s Club in the Stockyards and featured a fajita buffet dinner and dancing. The bride’s cake was a three tier cake consisting of cupcakes with a top layer of cake accented with burlap and satin ribbon. The groom's cake was a chocolate cake with chocolate icing. Tables were decorated with white and tan linens, votive lights and a centerpiece of mason jars trimmed with burlap and lace and filled with baby’s breath.
The rehearsal dinner was given by the groom’s parents, Gary and Debbie Dempsey, the evening prior to the wedding at Risky’s Steak House in the Stockyards.
After honeymooning in Hawaii, the couple will reside in Granbury.
