The Academic Hall of Fame Committee at Stephenville High School has announced five inductees and is busy planning the induction dinner and ceremony.

The eighth bi-annual induction dinner and ceremony will take place on Thursday, April 24, in the Stephenville High School cafeteria at 6:30 p.m. The Academic Hall of Fame Committee is sponsored by the Stephenville Optimist Club and partners with SHS PTO board members and SHS faculty.

"We deeply appreciate the financial support from the Stephenville Optimist Club," said SHS Assistant Principal Jan Vaughn. "We could not do this without them and the PTO."

During the dinner, inductees will be honored with a review of their accomplishments while students at Stephenville High School. All were either valedictorian or salutatorian and had many academic, as well as extracurricular achievements.

"We have five different students we are honoring this year and they are just that — different," Vaughn said. "They are all from different eras of time at SHS and are all remarkable in their time here."

Following the dinner, the unveiling of the Academic Hall of Fame showcase will take place in the foyer of Stephenville High School. This year's inductees include:

• Royce Chandler Harmon, Class of 1961

• Truman Bates, Class of 1964

• Rachel Fenner Edwards, Class of 1991

• Miranda Boucher Nash, Class of 1999

• Caleb Graves, Class of 2007

The public is invited to attend the dinner/ceremony with the purchase of pre-sale tickets. The meal will be catered barbecue. Pre-sale tickets will be on sale at the Stephenville High School office beginning Monday. Tickets are $10 and will be on sale until Thursday, April 17.
