Hurrah for Morgan Mill!
Congratulations to Sam Behymer. She has made it through two elimination rounds on the NBC Voice. Tuesday nights seem to be her night.
This afternoon is the first of four mini celebrations of the MM Methodist Church leading up to its 125th year anniversary on Sunday, Oct. 5. Starting at 3 p.m. there will be a variety of flashback/throwback games from the past being played at the MM Community Center. Mike Novak has located fun games like horseshoes, washers, hoop rolling, 3-legged races, sack races, and jump rope to name a few. There will also be checkers and domino games being played indoors. It is time for the weather to be good so come out and watch the fun and participate in the craziness. Potluck dinner will be served at 5:30 at the Community Center. As always, everybody is welcome. There will be special guest from the past present. Rev. Ann Hitt, who was part of the ground breaking ceremony for the MM Community Center, will be present at the afternoon festivities. Kim Jones, past vocalist, will be performing at the 9:30 church service. Be sure to pick up your commemorative bookmark made by Debbie Lincoln for the 125th celebration.
PTF President Shannon Buchanan has announced a new purchase for the MM football games, a permanent “run through” banner for the players. Before, the cheerleaders and drill team girls had to draw/paint a paper banner for the boys to run through for each game. Now, there will be one break-away banner decorated with a fighting mustang for the boys. Thank you PTF for your fundraising efforts.
Senior Citizens will be meeting on April 3 at 6:30 in the Community Center. Bring a potluck dish and come and visit with your neighbors. The program will be from the Weatherford Wildlife Center for wild and domestic birds. Jim and ?Jean Gibson accept any and all unwanted, deformed, abused and neglected pet birds and wild birds. She will bring some of her birds as “show and tell.” This will be an interesting and unusual program.
Line dancing is continuing at the Community Center on Wednesdays at 10. Come and exercise in a fun relaxed atmosphere. It may take a few classes but everybody had to start some time.
The coffee group still meets at the Community Center every morning, except Sunday, to chat. Starting around 7 until 8:30 the discussions are always interesting. The exercise group meets on Tuesday, Thursday, and Fridays at 7 am at the Community Center. There is always room for one more.
