Tarleton State's Chuck Guy has been named a National Association of Basketball Coaches All-American, according to a release from the NABC office in Kansas City on Tuesday.

Guy becomes the first Texan player to earn All-American honors since 2007 and the first NABC All-American since 2005.

The 2014 NABC All-American team, consisting of 16 student-athletes from around the nation, was selected and voted on by member coaches of the NABC.

Guy averaged more than 15 points for the Texans this season and dished out 184 assists, which ranks third most all-time in a single season. He drained 166 free throws to set a new school record as well and he led the Lone Star Conference in assist/turnover ratio.

The 6-0 senior from Fort Worth will represent Tarleton later this week as he competes in the 2014 NABC Reece's All-Star Game in Evansville, Ind.
