First she was turning chairs, now Morgan Mill's Sam Behymer got her hand raised during the Battle Rounds on NBC's The Voice. The Erath County songbird with a unique sound beat fellow Team Adam member Cary Laine Tuesday to earn a spot in the next set of battles. Behymer, 25, and Laine faced off with Ed Sheeran's Give Me Love.
Her parents and Morgan Mill residents Roger and Loree Behymer were in the audience Tuesday to cheer on their daughter.
Blake Shelton, a judge on the show, said the performance had some 'pitch issues' while Usher said both were equally strong.
Behymer said she is grateful for the chance to continue and appreciates the support she's getting from folks at home.
"I want people back home to know I really appreciate all the support and love I'm getting from them," Behymer said.
The Voice airs Mondays at 7 p.m. and Tuesdays at 8 p.m. Behymer can't say when her next episode will air.
