A 5K/fun run will take place Saturday in Comanche to help offset rising medical costs for a high school freshman with cerebral palsy.

"Cruisin' for Cameron" will take place at Comanche Middle School with the 5K beginning at 9 a.m. and the fun run at 10.

Registration will be held from 8-8:45 a.m.

Cameron Cuellar, 14, is recovering from his most recent surgery on March 4.

His family and friends are hosting the event in hopes of raising money to offset the cost of the $80,000 procedure.

Awards will be presented to the top five finishers in four age groups.

Registration is $10.
