A group of Tarleton State University students is preparing to spend their day off from classes cleaning up the Bosque River.

For the second year in a row, the TSU Environmental Society will take part in the cleanup effort from 8 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday.

"We will supply refreshments, kayaks and waders," said event organizer Kimberly Hogan. "We expect about 100 students to take part and we hope members of the community will join us as well."

The group will set up at the gazebo, then divide into teams before heading out to clean up the river and trail. They will pick up trash and recyclables which will be disposed of separately, Hogan said.

Other student organizations like the Tarleton Geological Society and Student Wildlife Society will be on hand Saturday to give out information.

The cleanup effort at City Park is part of Tarleton Round-Up, which will also take place Saturday.
