Unusually high winds caused considerable damage to at least one local business Sunday.
James Thurman, owner of Thurman Roofing and Construction, realized the roof of his business had collapsed after sustained high winds plagued the area Saturday night and all day Sunday.
And while Thurman and his crew are in the process of repairing the damage, he wants to make one thing clear to the public.
"We want people to know that we aren't the ones who placed this roof on the building," Thurman said Monday. "The roof was on the building before we moved in and I think it came off because of a combination between the poor quality of the roof and the windy conditions."
Thurman said he expects repairs to be complete by the end of the week, just in time for more rain on Saturday.
While construction is ongoing, Thurman said the business will remain open.
