Dublin celebrated its Irishness this weekend despite a little wet weather Saturday.

"We are looking forward to welcoming everyone to Dublin this weekend," Dublin Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Luanne Schexneider said Friday. "Everyone is Irish in Dublin on St. Patrick's Day."

The celebration kicked off Thursday with a carnival at Dublin City Park and vendors of all kinds in the Rotary Building. Various food vendors, arts and crafts and much more were on display and for sale as vendors gathered from across the state.

"We've been coming to the Dublin festival for several years, it's one of our favorites," said Raymond Carter, who was there helping a friend with his booth. "We make all the rounds, but the people here are always so happy and helpful."

The parade kicked off Saturday morning despite some rain.

"It's so much fun," said Lauren Hoel, 14, who was there with her friends. "We come every year because everyone comes out to the carnival and to the stuff downtown. It's a cool way to end our spring break."
