The Stephenville Yellow Jackets pitched their second no-hitter in a week Friday against the Hillsboro Eagles as they ran away with a 8-0 victory to improve their record to 10-4-1 and remain unbeaten at 4-0 in District 7-3A.
The no-hitter was a combined performance between Daniel Bullard, who threw the no-hitter last Friday against Alvarado, Josh Bulla and Noah Hobbs.
The three combined for nine strikeouts and only one walk and were helped out multiple times by strong defensive play in the field.
Bullard said after the game he, "Worked hard to throw strikes and the others guys who got on the mound did too, because we know we have a good defense behind us. We worked really hard all game and we're glad we came out on top."
The Jackets didn't waste any time getting on the board, as the first four batters of the game reached base safely and put three runs on the board.
The Jackets were led offensively by Brock Morrison and Arizona St. commit Maddux Conger. Morrison was 2-for-3 with a walk, 2 RBI's and 2 runs. Conger was 2-for-4 with 2 RBIs and a run.
In all, the Jackets combined for ten hits on the afternoon.
Stephenville's next game is a non-district battle with Ranger College JV at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday at James T. Young Field.
