Stephenville High School DECA members recently competed at the 68th Annual Texas DECA State Career Development Conference in Dallas. Competition is rigorous at the state level, according to advisor Brenda Burks.

More than 3,000 DECA members from throughout the state competed.  Students competing as individuals were Claudia Landa in Apparel and Accessories Marketing series event, Dani Fraga and Adriana Rivas in Human Resources series event, Taylor Hill and Selina Padilla in the Restaurant and Food Service Management series event, Silvia Fuentes and Emily Moore in the Retail Merchandising series event, Jeyton Freed and Chelcie Parry in the Sports and Entertainment Marketing series event.

These nine DECA members will be recognized at the SISD board meeting Monday night. Fifteen Stephenville High School DECA members competed at the District 5 DECA Career Development Conference at Cleburne High School prior to the state competition.

The above listed members as well as Sydney Brown, Vanessa Diaz, Zulema Medina, Kimberly Sanders, Hailey Smith and Bailey Stevenson competed at the district CDC.
