Stephenville finally broke through in a tough defensive battle to beat Granbury 1-0 on the road Friday, avenging a home loss during the first half of District 15-4A action.

It's the second time the Bees have defeated a foe who they lost to in the first half of league play, having done it to Kennedale last week.

Skylar Chipman put in the game winner on a cross from Codi Beyer in the second half, and the defense did the rest for the Bees, who celebrate senior night against Cleburne Friday at Lem Brock Field. Kickoff is set for 7:15 p.m.

The Yellow Jackets are still sitting second in the 15-4A after tying Granbury 1-1 at home. They defeated the Pirates 2-1 in the first half of league play.

Jaime Chavarria had the only goal for Stephenville and it was unassisted.

The Jackets travel to Cleburne Friday, also for a 7:15 p.m. start.
