Wade Brown, candidate for Congress District 11, took some time off from the campaign trail Wednesday to stop at Tarleton State's campus and work with Tarleton College Republicans to help students register to vote in the March primary.

"It is extremely encouraging to see the young people out here. They're going to have the longest lasting impact going forward on the direction of our government and country," said Brown. "It's extremely gratifying and encouraging to see them here."

Callie Jackson, a 19-year-old sophomore at Tarleton and a member of the Cross Timbers Republican Women's Club, answered other students questions about registering.

"I wanted to come out and help educate our generation about out future and the importance to vote," Jackson said.
