Stephenville's boys (5-2) dominated their first three pool games before dropping their pool finale and the consolation match in the Knights of Columbus Challenge of Champions presented by Southwest Dairy Farmers at Stephenville Soccer Complex Friday and Saturday.

The consolation final came down to penalty kicks after Joshua scored in the final minutes for a 1-1 tie. Joshua won the PK's 3-2.

Connecting for the Jackets were David Pinales and Luis Garcia. Their regulation goal came from Jose Figueroa with an assist from Lupe Espinoza.

The Jackets hammered Waco University's junior varsity club 4-0 Saturday morning, with Pinales scoring the final goal after dealing three assists. Espinoza scored twice and Jamie Chavarria had a goal before assisting on Pinales' score.

Chavarria was named to the all-tournament team, where Stephenville was also represented by Jose de Saracho of its JV club.

SHS couldn't get anything going against Marble Falls in each club's pool finale Saturday. The Mustangs won 3-0 and went on to finish second with a 2-1 loss in the championship to reigning 4A state champ Waco University.

The Jackets cruised on Friday, defeating Weatherford's JV 6-0 and Lorena 5-0. Chavarria had two goals and an assist against Weatherford's JV, while Espinoza had a goal and an assist against Lorena.
