It was like deja vu. For the second straight day, Stephenville's boys found themselves leading at halftime against a tough opponent. And just like on Thursday against Frisco Lone Star, the Yellow Jackets ran out of gas in the second half against Decatur Friday.

Decatur outscored the Jackets 44-24 in the second half of a 67-50 game in the Blue Division of the Whataburger Tournament at Chisholm Trail High School in north Fort Worth Friday afternoon. Stephenville led 26-23 at halftime.

The Jackets led Lone Star 30-27 at the break the day before, only to be outscored 46-15 in the third and fourth quarters of a 73-45 loss. A report on that game was published in the Friday edition of the E-T.

Most of Stephenville's roster had trouble scoring against Decatur, but not senior B.J. Walker, who tossed in five 3-pointers and 25 points. Grayson Sweet and Will Holland scored six each, Branndon Bledsoe and Malik Taylor both netted four and Colby Brandon contributed three.

The Jackets moved on to face Argyle Liberty Christian Friday evening, and the teams went to overtime for the second straight season. Liberty Christian edged Stephenville in double overtime in the Whataburger Tournament last year. It needed a third extra five-minute session to do the same this time around.

Walker was on fire again with 26 points, 10 of them in the fourth quarter when he was the only player keeping the Jackets alive in the 80-74 loss. They were on top 42-34 entering the fourth, before Argyle won the final stanza 20-12. It was 54-54 entering the first overtime.

Walker hit six threes in the dramatic loss. He did have more help scoring as Garrett Cole had 12, Taylor scored seven of his 11 in the overtime periods, Holland also netted 11 and Tyler Isham had 10. Grayson Sweet and Mookie Carlile scored two each.
