After the shiny Christmas wrap has been ripped from the box, sometimes all that's left is a not-so-perfect-gift. But don't fret, you can always take it back to the store and make an exchange.
After Christmas most think the hustle and bustle of the holiday season is over, but it really lasts a few days longer as many retailers deal with those who wish to make an exchange or return.
According to owner of 4 Kids Only, GeriAnn Kalsbeek returning an item as quickly as possible is the best method at her shop to get the right size or item.
"We say as quickly as possible because we don't usually have a lot of returns so we aren't expecting any long lines," said Kalsbeek.
Especially with the end of the year right around the corner, local businesses are wanting quick returns.
"The quicker you can return something the better. A lot of businesses like to do a sale the very last week of the year and have less inventory to count. It's definitely the time to get the best bang for your buck," said Shannon Mills from the Blue Flamingo Studio.
Receipts aren't mandatory for exchanges or returns but they are helpful, especially if you want full credit.
"We throw most return rules out the door. We want our customers to be happy and we know not every one lives in Erath County," Mills said.
