Huckabay's eighth-ranked 1A Division II boys welcomed a challenge from 2A Clyde Friday night and came out victorious 42-36 at HHS.

Cade Bray continued to pace the Indians (7-5), who relied again on their stalwart defense on a night when the offense struggled to put up points. Bray scored 18 and was joined in double figures by Junior Fragoza with 10.

The Indians also picked up seven points from Gavin Fuentes and five from Garrett Stewart. Cade Little and Ky Bray each added one.

Huckabay's girls (1-12) came out on the other side of the win-loss ledger, dropping a 29-26 nail biter to Priddy, also at home. Narda Fragoza scored eight, Erin Baker seven, Bailey Woolridge six and Makayla Metsgar five.

Both Huckabay teams travel to Meridian for post-Christmas tournament play Friday and Saturday.
