Erath County is expecting a rainy weekend, but don't let that stop you from enjoying yourself. Check out the E-T's top five local happenings! Oh, and TGIF!

1. Christmas celebration at Twisted J

From 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday, Twisted J will show their Christmas spirit by having snacks and drawings for door prizes every hour. You can even draw for wonderful winterland savings! Also, from 2-4 p.m. Santa will be there to take pictures with the kids.

2. Koe Wetzel, Kody Josserand and friends at Bostock's

Put on some jeans and boots and head out for a night of Texas Country music at Bostock's Billiards and Bar. The unique sounds of Koe Wetzel and Kody Josserand will make for a great Friday night on the town. Doors will open at 8 p.m.

3. Catch a flick at the local cinema

Head to Cinemark Cinema 6 in Stephenville to enjoy any one of several new releases including Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues and The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug. And don't forget the candy and popcorn!

4. Library to show Polar Express

The Stephenville Public Library invites everyone to hop on the Polar Express and experience one of the all-time favorite Christmas stories brought to life on DVD. The event will begin at 1:30 p.m. Saturday and is free. Guests are encouraged to dress comfortably and to bring a blanket and pillow and enjoy some holiday fun!

5. Church to host candlelight service

Calvary Baptist Church invites the public to its candlelight caroling service and open house at 6 p.m. Sunday. Everyone is invited to come sing favorite Christmas songs and enjoy apple cider and delicious Christmas cookies.
