The Paluxy River Children's Advocacy Center and Fun-N-Sun Boat Sales are teaming up for the 1st Annual Fun-n-Sun Fish-n-Chips Tournament.

The Paluxy River Children's Advocacy Center is part of the Children's Advocacy Centers of Texas and has a staff of experienced professionals dedicated to serving children throughout Texas.

The center specializes in investigating and prosecuting child abuse and puts the focus on eliminating how many times a child has to share their story. The center serves children from Hood, Erath and Somervell counties.

The Texas Hold Em Poker tournament will be held at the Fun-N-Sun location in Hurst at 3 p.m. Saturday. Briskets and all the trimmings will be available for all to eat among other activities. To register Fun-n-Sun urges being at the Hurst store by 2:30-2:45 p.m. to register.

The bass tournament will be on Squaw Creek for just the anglers of the Fun-n-Sun tournament. The weigh in will be at Squaw Creek and will be handled by Bass Champs.

A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Paluxy River Children's Advocacy Center directly.

Kerrie Stannell, the executive director of the Paluxy River Children's Advocacy Center, said, "We're excited about this year's event and that we're more involved. It's awesome they do this for us and are so willing to put it on to benefit the center."
